To the Trees

You go to the trees in search of peace. Called to the forest in moments of uncertainty.

The trees, they offer no advice. Not even a listening ear.

But those same trees, they welcome you with open arms. Branches held high. Leaves moving gently in the wind.

When the wind stops a moment, your thoughts pause too. Every little piece of the universe flows into your body and out in that one moment. That one breath. And soon your mind tumbles onward again. Rolling down a big hill, and cannot be stopped without some incredible force there to pick it up and return it. Maybe that force is the wind that blows the leaves, or the trees standing tall and confident.

Or maybe it’s you. Trembling in uncertainty below towering branches. Seeking counsel from the forest.

So you came here in search of yourself. The trees provided company, but you carved the path.

Don’t you understand that you have been your own savior?
