Don’t ever forget your roots
I’m going all in now. Leaving it all behind. Barefoot on the cold ground running away from everything that might be holding me back from what I really am. Roots. Dug deep. Severing them from their deepest points and running, running, running. Flying now, flying high in the sky looking back on everything I once knew.
No, don’t look back.
I look back too long and soon I’m falling fast, out of control. Spinning wildly through the air until I’m pulled back down to earth by gravity’s unforgiving forces.
“Stay here” she says. So I do. I burrow deep down into the dirt. And as I rest, my roots grow deeper and deeper, carving new paths through the dark earth. “One day you’ll understand”, she says, “you cannot touch the sky until you have explored the depths of the vehicle in which you came here”.
“Your body, this earth, is your home. Don’t ever forget your roots.”
