Reflections on Burning Man

So i’ve officially experienced burning man - certainly a unique experience. I’d describe it as essentially an adult playground creatively designed to entertain every strange desire of the human psyche. Beyond what one can imagine. It’s a product of many minds, full of everything you could ever think of AND everything you could never think of.

I’m still digesting and integrating my experience with it. I’d like to say it’s truly such a magical place and sanctify it as i’ve heard so many people do before. I walked in with an open mind and open heart, really just wanting to feel out for myself what this event is all about. I guess the most simple way i’d put it is that it’s about being human. And every aspect of humanness manifests in that event - you’ll find every archetype, every quirk, every emotion embodied. It’s a celebration of humanity & creativity & expression. It’s messy and it’s beautiful and it is what you make it.

B and I intuitively left early before the crazy weather hit, so we did not make it through to the actual burning of the man…

But we “burn the man” every day by choosing to live our lives the way we do I guess… Still a little sad we missed that symbolic event but beyond grateful to have gone at all, and to have had some extra rejuvenating time at home amid a busy few months.

Such a blessing to be human.
