Sun Bath

Here I am

on a blanket of grass

shimmering sea of green

Reflecting the light

Of a glowing ball of mass.

We call it the sun.

Hanging in the sky

Shining its light upon everyone.

Beads of sweat roll off my skin

Some turn to vapor

A journey begins

Transformed by its power

Now little pieces of

tomorrows rain shower.

Oh sun.

The reason we experience

the passing of time

A massive ball of energy

with a charismatic pull we call gravity.

Center of attention,

you have us in your grip

We travel round and round

A cyclic cosmic trip

If not for you…

The grass would not grow

Nor the river flow

If not for you..

I would not feel or see or think

No food to eat

No water to drink

But here I am

Breathing, growing

Life force flowing

Resting here

with the grass

together

taking a sun bath
