Glimmer of Hope

I’m in a world

so surreal,

yet unflatteringly tangible

but I can see right through it

A world bright enough

To awaken us

and show us what it means

to live a dream

Some days, reality hits me at a different angle

And the world seems extra fabricated

Like I’m stuck inside

With no way out

Illusory images feed my senses

Thoughts circle in my brain

I can’t see it anymore

The light is off

And I can’t see

So I take it all in

With a breath of discomfort

and a glimmer of hope
